Sometimes when we deliver wedding cakes and have extra time afterwards, we are able to have other adventures or explore around the area. Two Saturdays ago, we had a delivery at Cheyenne Canon Inn, a bed and breakfast at the entrance to North Cheyenne Canon, so afterwards we drove up to Helen Hunt Falls. It was beautiful...first time I had been there.

Yesterday, we delivered a cake to the Denver Botanical Gardens. It looked very beautiful, but we didn't get a chance to look around, as we wanted to take in a session at the temple. The temple experience was quiet and peaceful, not many there due to the Labor Day weekend. Afterwards, we went to visit our friends, Linda and Dave Deming in Parker. Ira and Noemi Simons also came to visit after awhile and brought dinner, so we stayed to visit and didn't get home until 9:30, so it was a full day, but very fulfilling. Linda and Dave are our friends from CO Springs that moved here about the same time we did. Linda was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease a few months ago and seems to be going downhill very quickly. She has now lost all use of any of her limbs and has a catheter, and has to be fed, and moved with an hydraulic lift. It is sad to see her this way, but she still seems to be in good spirits.
